Rail transport

How can we help you?

Rail freight transport connects the port of Rotterdam to all of Europe, and in an environmentally friendly, safe, efficient, reliable and cost-effective manner. Transit times are short: cargo crosses the German border within three hours and reaches many European destinations within 24 hours.

In the port of Rotterdam, all types of cargo (containers, general breakbulk, dry and liquid bulk) are loaded onto trains via various rail transhipment facilities. Fifty companies are connected to the main railway to transport freight throughout Europe. These include deepsea terminals, continental container terminals and the RoRo terminals.

Looking for more information about opportunities in the rail freight market? Read more about it on the Railcargo website.

The screen shows a detailed map with shipping lanes across the North Atlantic and European ports, along with data charts and metrics below the map. The interface includes blue route lines and green highlights for key locations. The setting appears to be indoors with natural light.
